Manufacturing and logistics
Machinery, vehicles and generators, tracked to the bolt
Equipment asset tracking for manufacturing and logistics: machinery, vehicles and generators with tags that last, service plans and depreciation.
An asset tag as it could look for this sector. Illustrative.
The problem
A plant or a fleet runs on assets that are heavy, expensive and outdoors: machines, vehicles, forklifts, generators, racking and tools. They are spread across sites and yards, serviced by the hour or the kilometre, and exposed to heat, dust and wash-down.
Paper labels do not survive, so assets lose their identity. Service intervals depend on meter readings someone keeps in a notebook. And depreciation on high-value equipment has to match what is physically there.
How VexCloud AMS helps
Tags built for the environment
Number and print your tags in VexCloud AMS, or order anodized aluminium tags that withstand heat, cleaning and years of handling.
Barcode and QR tagging
Service by hours or kilometres
Plans fall due by calendar, by meter reading, or whichever comes first, and open work orders ahead of time.
Maintenance and warranty
Depreciation, including by units
Straight-line, declining balance and units of production for machines that wear by output.
Depreciation
Several sites, one login
Each plant or depot as a company or location, with the same policies copied across.
Many companies, one login
Yard counts on a phone
Walk the yard, scan each tag and reconcile without a signal.
Physical asset audits
Scenario, not a client
A scenario: a depot with forty vehicles
Imagine a logistics depot with forty trucks and vans and a workshop full of tools. Each vehicle gets an aluminium tag fixed with rivets, and a service plan every 10,000 kilometres or six months, whichever comes first.
The workshop records odometer readings when vehicles come in. VexCloud AMS opens a work order as each one nears its service, takes the vehicle out of service while it is in the workshop, and returns it when the order closes. Costs for parts and labour add up on each vehicle.
This is an illustration of how the product is used. It describes no real organization.
The tags are half of it
For machinery, vehicles and outdoor assets, tags that last matter most. Vexar Solutions fixes aluminium tags with rivets, screws or adhesive, and marks small tools by laser.
FAQ
Questions from this sector
Can we track components installed in a machine?
Yes. Components can be installed in an asset from stock, with a movement record, and taken out again.
Does it read vehicle telematics?
Not automatically. Meter readings are entered on the asset. The API and webhooks can be used to bring readings in from other systems.
Can I tag small tools?
Yes. Laser marking engraves a code into the tool itself, and the code is scanned like any other.
Can we handle several sites?
Yes, as locations in one company, or as separate companies under one login.
